One of the families that lives near us hosts a pie party every year, and I just love seeing the creativity that people bring when making (or buying) their pies. They host and everyone brings their own pie to add to the celebration. It can be anything from classics like homemade apple pie to more unique dishes like peanut butter pie or Kool-Aid pie! Last year I shared striped delight (in a pie dish) and this year I’m thinking about taking my no-bake Snickers pie. With Pi day just around the corner on March 14th (3.14 – get it), I thought it would be fun to share some pie day printables that you can use for any sort of pie celebration – pi, pie, or even pizza pie! Whether you like math or not, Pi day is a great excuse to celebrate and eat pie! Plus, these printables are free and cute – so that’s an added bonus as well.
Pie Day Printables
This set includes a number of different things that you can use for a pie or pi day party, and they’re all included in the free printable download at the bottom of this post. Everything is very pie themed with a variety of different pies featured – apple pie, blueberry pie, pecan pie, and so on.
Pi Day Bunting
It starts with a pie themed bunting. There are blank pie triangles as well as ones with the letters PIE DAY – if you’re using this for Pi Day, just leave out the E when you’re putting together your bunting! To make the bunting, just cut out each of the individual triangles and use a string to attach them to each other, then use tape or some other sort of hanger to hang it up.
Food and Drink Labels
The pack also includes blank pie themed food cards that you can print, fold, and write on. I made blank ones so that it didn’t matter if you were going to serve shepherd’s pie or no-bake pumpkin pie – they’ll work for anything! There are also blank bottle labels that you can use for water bottles, juice bottles, or even sodas. For the bottle labels, I recommend printing on full-sheet labels so you can just stick them on without dealing with tape. I’ve also included some cute straw flags if you want to add them onto straws just as a little bonus detail. You can do plastic straws or cute paper ones but if you do paper, don’t put them into the drinks so the straws don’t get soggy. Paper straws sure are cute, but they’re also miserable to drink out of once they’ve been soaked for a while.
Other Pi Day Printables
In addition to the ones mentioned above, the pack also includes cute pie themed cupcake (or mini pie) toppers and fun pie themed quote signs. Print out a handful of the quote signs and put them in little frames to keep everyone’s mind on pie (or pi!). Print and cut out the cupcake toppers, tape them to a toothpick, then place them on top of little mini pies (or even big ones)! Or alternately you could skip the toothpick and use them as little favor tags that you can tie to to-go pie boxes. If you don’t love that idea, you can also use these baby shower favor tags (they’re generic) to send people home with something sweet! Oh and I know that cheesecake isn’t a pie, but I was making these cute mini 4th of July cheesecakes and couldn’t let the go to waste!
Other Fun Pi Party Ideas
These printables can give you a good start for your pie party (or pi day party) but if you need some more ideas, I’ve got you covered! Try out the face the pie game, one of our favorite Thanksgiving games, but also good for any event as long as you have pie! Setup a build your own pie bar like I did in this pie bar post. It gave everyone the chance to make their very own pies with their favorite toppings! Create a dessert board full of pie slices along with pie toppings like whipped cream (this blueberry whipped cream would be delicious), hot fudge, Cool Whip, and of course vanilla ice cream. Play any of these fun math games (great for any age) like this math dice game or even this guess the rainbow counting game. Make these DIY felt pizzas and then spend time doing the math activities with your felt pizza pies! You could even do this then enjoy some mini pizza pies!
